She took her first school from good to outstanding which it remained. Debby supported a school in special measures and moved it to good with outstanding features. Following this, she led a Federated which gave her an amazing opportunity to support the two teams in working collegiately sharing good practice and supporting each other. She takes particular pride in both schools being awarded the National Silver accreditation for attachment and trauma-sensitive practice. Debby has been a National leader in education working with schools across the primary Sector over a long period. During her career, she has delivered National college training to middle leaders, been a mentor for other heads, an active member of the local SCITT committees. Debby believes in schools supporting each other and has been keen to take a lead in the Gosport Education Improvement Partnership.
As a leader, Debby believes in empowering leaders at all levels and roles through coaching, mentoring and training. She is now able to concentrate on pursuing her passion to provide high quality leadership training and coaching to all teams throughout primary schools.
She has found schools that develop a whole school approach to attachment and trauma practice become truly inclusive.
Supervision is an important element of this work to ensure staff wellbeing. There are such high levels of need in our schools from distressed children and they and the staff need help to thrive.
Schools really do change lives and high quality coaching and training is critical to make sure every child has an incredible school experience.
Debby believes passionately if school leaders ‘Shine’ the children ‘Shine’.
Debby now runs ‘Shine Education’ which provides a range of Leadership and staff professional development offers. She is a specialist in developing a whole school approach to attachment and trauma sensitive practice.
She is able to provide a range of programmes along with bespoke training and coaching for Headteachers, Heads of school, Deputies, Middle Leaders, Governors, or for the whole staff.
